Dr. Sarah Guttery, DVM
Dr. Sarah Guttery, DVM

Veterinarian

Education: Auburn University

Sarah E. Guttery is originally from Jacksonville, FL. She grew up in Dunwoody, GA where she developed her love for animals and a lifelong ambition to become a veterinarian. Dr. Guttery attended Auburn University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1987 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She has practiced veterinary medicine in Brevard County since 1990. Throughout the years she has developed a trusting relationship with clients who travel from Titusville, Cocoa, Merritt Island, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, and even as far away as Kissimmee, Lakeland, and Edgewater for her services. Dr. Guttery’s interests include small animal and exotic animal medicine and surgery. She is also a member of the admissions committee at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Guttery lives in Titusville with her husband John. They raised three wonderful sons there — Wesley, Ryan, and Jason. Although she and her husband are both Auburn alumni—War Eagle! —all three boys received their undergraduate and their masters degrees from the University of Florida—Go Gators! Dr. Guttery is an active member of Park Avenue Baptist Church through which she annually serves on medical mission trips overseas, primarily to Kenya. Her personal interests include running and triathlons. She continues to pursue her goal of running a marathon in all 50 states as well as qualify for the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii. She also loves skiing, rock climbing, and scrapbooking. Dr Guttery and her husband love spending time in Gainesville with their three boys, two daughter-in-laws, and their first grandson and granddaughter!

Veterinarian

Dr. Maria E. Alvey is originally from Puerto Rico. Dr. Alvey attended the University of Puerto Rico where she received a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in 1990. She received a Marine Biology Degree from the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico in 1992. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University in 1996. Dr. Alvey has practiced veterinary medicine in Ohio and Tampa Bay, FL. She joined Port St. John Veterinary Hospital in 1997. Her interests include small animal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Joelle Glenn, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Glenn is an associate veterinarian with several years of experience in shelter medicine and large and small animal practice. She believes that preventive medicine (vaccines, parasite protection, and dental care) along with good nutrition are the keys to health and longevity for our furry friends. Dr. Glenn enjoys teaching students from the veterinary medical and veterinary technician/assistant programs and is proud to help them reach their dreams.
